These terms describe how the KIND referral programme works. They apply in addition to the Recipient Terms. The programme is optional, free to join and can be changed or ended with notice.
1. Rewards
- Referral rewards are paid out of KIND's own platform fee. They never reduce the amount a recipient receives.
- Tier 1: the person who referred a recipient earns 1% of the base amount of that recipient's eligible Appreciation.
- Tier 2: once unlocked, the person one level above earns 2% of the base amount.
- KIND Plus: a referral of a paying Plus subscriber earns a fixed reward of €1 at Tier 1 and €2 at Tier 2.
- Rates and thresholds are configurable and shown in your referral dashboard. Changes apply from the date they take effect, never retroactively.
2. What counts as a qualified referral
- A click on a referral link does not count.
- A sign-up does not count.
- Creating a KIND page does not count.
- A referral qualifies only after the referred person has successfully received at least one eligible payment, confirmed by our payment provider.
- Tier 2 unlocks after 100 qualified direct referrals.
3. Reward status
- Pending: recorded but not yet payable.
- Available: confirmed and payable.
- Paid: settled to you.
- Reversed: cancelled because the underlying payment was refunded, disputed or charged back.
Every reward is recorded against the payment that produced it. Duplicate payment notifications never create duplicate rewards.
4. Fair use and abuse
- Self-referral is not permitted and is blocked.
- Creating additional accounts, circular referral chains, or artificial payments to trigger rewards is not permitted.
- Payments funded by the referrer or a connected person to manufacture qualification are not eligible.
- We may withhold, reverse or cancel rewards and close accounts where we reasonably believe the programme is being abused, and we will explain why.
5. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks
If a payment that produced a reward is refunded, disputed or charged back, the associated reward is reversed. If the reward had already been paid out, we may offset it against future rewards.
6. Taxes
Referral rewards may be taxable income where you live. You are responsible for declaring and paying any tax due on them.
7. Changes and contact
We may update these terms, rates or thresholds. Material changes are announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Questions: info@kind.us.org.
